Cricket on the Phone Feels Different Now And The second screen habit everyone has

Jack JonesBy Jack JonesMarch 14, 2026

When watching is not enough anymore

I’ll be honest, a few years ago I used to think cricket apps were mostly the same thing. Live scores, maybe a few highlights, some loud ads popping out of nowhere. But recently I tried the come cricket app after seeing people randomly talk about it in a Telegram cricket group. Not a big influencer post or anything, just normal fans saying “this one actually feels fun”. That kind of recommendation usually catches my attention more than fancy ads.

The first thing I noticed is how much cricket fans have changed. Earlier we just watched matches. Now everyone wants to interact with the game somehow. Predictions, quick stats, chatting during overs, checking lineups like mini analysts. Apps that only show the score feel kinda boring now.

So when I opened the come cricket app, it felt less like a scoreboard and more like something built for people who are constantly refreshing match info every two minutes. If you’re the type who checks the score while brushing your teeth… yeah you probably know what I mean.

The funny thing is, during the last IPL season my cousin literally had three cricket apps installed. THREE. His phone storage is crying silently in the background. But he still complained none of them felt smooth enough. That’s when I realized cricket fans are weirdly picky. We notice everything.

Why cricket apps suddenly matter so much

There’s a strange behavior I noticed during matches. Even when the TV is on, almost everyone around me still grabs their phone. It’s like a second screen habit. Someone checking fantasy points, someone reading Twitter reactions, someone arguing in a WhatsApp group that the captain made the wrong bowling change.

    Apps jumped into that space.

One small stat I read somewhere — not even sure if it was an official report or just a Reddit thread quoting something — said cricket-related mobile activity spikes almost 300% during big tournaments. Sounds believable honestly. During India vs Pakistan games the internet practically shakes.

What makes certain apps stand out is speed and simplicity. If the score refresh takes too long, users leave. If the interface looks like a 2012 website, they also leave. Mobile users have zero patience now.

And honestly, the design of some sports apps is so messy it gives me a headache. Too many buttons everywhere. It feels like trying to find the remote on a sofa full of cushions.

One reason some fans have been mentioning the come cricket platform lately is that it doesn’t try to overload everything on the screen. You open it and you immediately know where the match info is. Sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many apps mess that up.

    Fans are becoming mini experts

Something I kinda enjoy about modern cricket culture is how everyone suddenly thinks like an analyst. Twitter (or X… whatever we call it now) becomes a war zone during matches. Someone posts a stat like “this batter averages 62 against left arm spin in night games” and suddenly thousands of people are debating it.

Platforms that provide quick stats or match data basically feed that obsession.

I remember during the World Cup last year, one friend kept predicting wickets just by watching strike rotation patterns. He was wrong most of the time obviously, but still… the confidence was impressive.

Apps that support this kind of fan behavior tend to grow faster because people like feeling involved. It’s similar to fantasy leagues actually. Once you start analyzing players, normal watching becomes slightly more intense.

There’s also the community effect. If people see others talking about something online, curiosity kicks in. That’s probably how many users ended up checking come cricket recently. I saw random Instagram cricket meme pages mentioning it too, which is honestly the modern version of marketing.

Memes sell better than ads sometimes.

Mobile cricket is slowly becoming a daily habit

This part might sound dramatic, but I do think cricket consumption is slowly moving toward phones more than television. Not completely, obviously stadium and TV broadcasts are still king. But phones are where fans stay connected between matches.

For example, I used to ignore domestic leagues completely. Ranji Trophy, small T20 tournaments, things like that. Now with mobile coverage and quick match updates, it’s easier to follow random games happening on the other side of the country.

Sometimes I’ll be standing in a grocery store line refreshing match updates like it’s breaking news.

That behavior explains why apps keep popping up in the cricket space. Fans want something fast, lightweight and slightly entertaining. Not just a boring scoreboard.

I checked come cricket app  again recently after a few weeks and noticed more people in online forums talking about it. Could be word of mouth spreading, or maybe cricket fans just love experimenting with new apps.

The interesting thing is how small improvements make big differences. A cleaner layout, faster loading scorecards, better match updates. Nothing revolutionary, but enough to keep users coming back.

And near the end of the day, that’s probably the goal of any sports platform. Make fans open the app again during the next over.

I still laugh remembering my cousin with his three cricket apps. Last week he told me he deleted two of them because they were “too slow and annoying.” Now guess which one he kept checking during the last T20 match… yeah, the come cricket app again.
